What is a Transparency Report?
Similar to an Annual Report, a Transparency Report establishes a stream of communication between the creative and the consumer by sharing insight into the practices of a business.
Sustainability is the future across all markets, and a transparency report is a record of self accountability and goal setting. By publishing a narrative of your brand’s practices, you set yourself apart as not only creating honest products but intentional ones as well.
A transparency report is customized to your brand’s business model, and is rooted in accountability. The features in a transparency report are dependent on the data available for collection, and can start as an initial generalized report or as an annual one.
For example: materials and choices in sourcing, packaging used, energy and waste, and even labor practices might be categories of interest for certain brands. Providing initial insight into these categories can begin by simply explaining the internal decision making process for each field. Over time, quantitative data can be collected and compiled for reference.
Brands can also choose to highlight their accomplishments for each year, bolstered by ambitions they have for the coming year/years concerning growth. This strengthens the integrity of the brand through earnest storytelling.
How does it work?
Understanding your business’s mission, values, and overarching goals is how we know what areas will best serve your brand. From there, I can begin to develop an outline for the report’s categories and features.
Fusing storytelling with fact, we will work together to create a timeline for each category of data, detailing what we hope to include and what statistics we’d like to produce.
